Hi, I'm Chrissie!
I'm a military spouse. A mom of 3. And most importantly, a daughter of the king. God blessed me with the ability to write and has prompted me to share my many blessings and lessons with world, in hopes that it will help you draw closer to Him.
I fell in love with writing when I was in the sixth grade. My Language Arts teacher began each day with a one-sentence prompt on the blackboard. We had to write a short story from that prompt every morning. That's when I began to realize how much I enjoyed writing.
But my writing was pushed to the back burner as I pursued my childhood dream of becoming a ballerina. I never stopped writing though. I always kept journals and notebooks, frequently writing down my thoughts and dreams. (Other than that sixth grade daily writing assignment, I've never been much of a fiction writer. The truth always seemed more interesting to me!)

Fast forward to my college years... I gave up the dancing dream and went after a degree in mass media. This involved some writing, but not enough to satisfy my love of words. Then came marriage to a military spouse, multiple moves around the world, and three babies. Motherhood became my top priority for years. Then God started making moves in my life to bring me back to writing. I was invited into a “Write a Novel in a Month” Challenge and accepted. But when I sat down to write, I didn’t fill the pages with fiction. I realized God wanted me to tell my story of redemption and renewal so I could help others on the same journey. |
For years, I’d heard fellow women talk about the struggles of having babies and staying close to their husbands, while living out other commitments and not losing themselves completely. God taught me many lessons and brought me many blessings in all of these things, and I felt led to help others in the same way.
I also see such a large trend of relying on your own inner strength and abilities as a woman, but I believe God calls us to rely on His strength each day, not our own. So I wanted to share this message of how I approached that calling in my daily life.
I wrote one chapter each day. And I ended each day not knowing what the next chapter would be about. So I frequently felt nervous that I’d hit a block and not complete my book in a month, therefore not completing the challenge. But each morning, I’d wake up and know exactly what to write about. That’s how I know this story is led by God. He gave me one topic per day, never more, never less. My own personal manna.
My life is living proof that anyone can turn their life around, stop living in guilt and start living in grace. I had 5 babies in 3 years, and that all began while trying to heal a troubled marriage. God brought me out of the darkness and into the light of His grace. And He gave me the gift of writing to share this with anyone who needs to hear it and glean from it.
What If I Name Her Grace? is a transformative tale of trying to live like Jesus in the trenches of early marriage and motherhood… and learning how to find God’s grace when you miss the mark. I hope God uses it to move mountains in your life.
